The objective of the PLAIS/SIGSAND EuroSymposium 2018 was to promote and develop high-quality research on all issues related to research, development, applications, and education in information systems (IS), often referred to in Europe as business informatics. It provided a forum for IS researchers and practitioners in Europe and beyond to interact, collaborate, and develop this field. The EuroSymposia were initiated by Prof. Keng Siau as the SIGSAND – Europe Initiative. Previous EuroSymposiawere held at:

There are three organizers of The XIth PLAIS/SIGSAND EuroSymposium:
- The Polish Chapter of Association for Information Systems (PLAIS) was established in 2006 as the joint initiative of Prof. Claudia Loebbecke, University of Cologne, Germany, former President of AIS and Prof. Stanisław Wrycza, University of Gdansk, Poland. PLAIS co-organizes international and domestic conferences on SAND as well as on Business Informatics and Systems Engineering.
- SIGSAND is the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Special Interest Group on SAND. SIGSAND provides services such as annual symposia, news, research and teaching tracks at major IS conferences, listserv and special issues in journals. The EuroSymposia were initiated by the former Vice President of AIS - Prof. Keng Siau as the SIGSAND-Europe initiative.
- The Department of Business Informatics at the University of Gdansk is conducting intensive teaching and research activities in the academic field – Business Informatics. Some of its academic manuals are bestsellers in Poland. The Department is also active internationally, organizing conferences including the Xth European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2002), The VIIth International Conference on Perspectives in Business Informatics Research (BIR 2008), The VIIIth International Conference on European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN 2009) and PLAIS/SIGSAND EuroSymposia (2007, 2011 - 2017). The Department is the partner of the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) and SAP University Alliances (SUA) consortia.

All submissions will be reviewed by the EuroSymposium’2018 International Programme Committee. The accepted papers will be published as EuroSymposium 2018 Proceedings in the Springer series of Lecture Notes on Business Information Processing (LNBIP).
IS faculty members, independent scholars, doctorates and practitioners are invited to submit research papers in the area of IS & SAND. The length limit of completed research paper is 5,000 words. The Best Paper of EuroSymposium’2018 will be selected and awarded.
Papers should be submitted in PDF and doc format. Submissions must conform to Springer's LNBIP format which can be found under instructions for LNBIP Authors at:

Three to five keywords characterizing the paper should be indicated at the end of the abstract. Online submission will be offered for EuroSymposium’2018 at Springer Online Conference Service (OCS):

During EuroSymposium’2018 - the Poster Session is also envisaged. The extended abstracts of the accepted posters will be published in the succeeding volume of Research Reports on Business Informatics issued by University of Gdansk.
